The Unauthorized Musical Parody of Clueless

“As if!”

Our favorite Beverly Hills popular it girl is back in the The Unauthorized Musical Parody of Clueless at Rockwell Table and Stage in Los Angeles. This show is a true experience – the actors roam throughout the audience, belting out song along with a live band. It's filled with fun comedic timing!

This OMG production parodies the 1995 comedy classic, revisiting the teen movie with music and a ton of laughs too! Plaid is everywhere with this joyous 90’s throwback.

Ashley Argota plays Cher, a well-intentioned but superficial fashion it girl. She rocks out in her role as she struts across the stage. Cher is attractive, popular and extremely rich. A few months’ shy of her sixteenth birthday, Cher and her best friend, Dionne – played with style by Janaya Mahealani Jones – rule the high school social scene.

These girls have it all and breeze through life oblivious to the rest of the world. When new girl, Tai – a hilarious Natalie Lander – arrives at the school, Cher and Dionne take it upon themselves to makeover their new friend, transforming her from adorably clueless to supermodel sexy. Along the way, Cher plays matchmaker, using her charm and smarts help her friends and teachers find love — and to improve not only her grades, but also the world around her.

The show opens with the classic tune from the movie “Kids in America” and we are singing along! As the show progresses so does too the jokes. For instance in this production, Dionne is a lesbian, and her Murray is her girlfriend – played Desi Dennis-Dylan.

Love is in the air as the show continues. Tai is interested in stoner dude Travis – Garrett Clayton – who is 25 and in his 7th senior year. (Too classic – he is also is king of the tardies.) Cher disapproves and tries to set up Tai with uber-popular jerk Elton – Lucas Colton – who dances with his intended at the “val” party to the tune of “Rollin' with the Homies.” But the romance is blown away when Elton tries to hook up with Cher, who rebuffs his advances and is left at a gas station – where she is robbed.

Who to turn to? Her used to be but is no more stepbrother Josh – played sweetly by Jason Heymann. The hilarious joke here is the incestuous theme that the production plays upon. These two aren't really related...but the joke is that the whole romance thing between the two is kinda ew! (But kind of adorbs too).

Cher's saving herself for Luke Perry. That is until she meets new guy Christian – played by Zack Colonna – who is ultra fabulous in all the obvious ways. His outfit alone is hilarious, those glitter shoes and short shorts! Oblivious to these gay undertones Cher tries to “draw attention” to her mouth and set up mood lighting to seduce him, but to no avail – and of course we as the audience know why!

Then Tai confesses to Cher that she has feelings for Josh. This makes Cher realize that she is in love with Josh and the two girls get into a fight. The classic line from Tai comes into play: “You're a virgin who can't drive!” The audience chimed in for the line as well.

True love and true laughs is the name of the game. Truly, Cher has a way normal life for a teenage girl! And of course she ends up with Josh, Tai ends up with Travis and Dionne's virginity becomes non-existent after she unwittingly drives on the freeway.

The Unauthorized Musical Parody of Clueless runs through September 1. This is an immersive, live theatre experience, complete with Rockwell’s delicious food and craft cocktails. Rockwell Table and Stage is located in Los Feliz at 1714 N. Vermont Ave, Los Angeles. For more information visit
