The Oaks at Ojai

If you are looking to get healthy, while surrounded by beautiful landscapes and a relaxing atmosphere, then The Oaks at Ojai is the retreat for you! The Oaks at Ojai spa is the perfect place for women over 40, unique and customizable – it's unlike any other resort in the US.

Founder Sheila Cluff, known as the “grandmother” of aerobics, taught “cardio-vascular dance” in the 1950s. She was hired to teach classes at the Oaks at Ojai, then under different owners. In 1977 Sheila purchased the resort and turned it into the truly amazing health retreat that it is today.

The approach to The Oaks is casual and welcoming, and of course fun – all while still remaining affordable. The Oaks at Ojai program includes overnight accommodations, delicious, healthy meals that are tailored to promote weight loss, and your choice of fifteen fitness classes per day. As well, evening seminars inspire to sustain the healthy changes you learn while at the spa.

There are a variety of activities at The Oaks at Ojai. Their commitment is for you to have a great time! Go hiking, take an art tour, swim in their gorgeous pool, relax in their sauna, eucalyptus steam room, or hot tubs, take a guided kayaking tour, learn to belly dance, chill out in a yoga class, learn how to cook nutritious meals, attend health oriented lectures and more. A full menu of spa services is also available, as well as private consultations – all administered by a highly trained professional staff of experts.

The Oaks at Ojai offers three types of classes: Cardio Classes to help strengthen your heart and lungs and burn fat; Tone and Strength Classes to build lean muscles and shape the physique; and Flexibility Classes to increase your range of motion and decrease stress. They recommend starting by choosing one of each type of class daily as your foundation, then adding classes based on your energy and your interest.
