Star-Studded Tribute to Eddie Money
We lost a music legend last September as Eddie Money passed away. Eddie's family and friends are gathering to pay tribute to his life and talent. Sammy Hagar, Rick Springfield, George Thorogood, John Waite, and Mickey Thomas will be performing at the Star-Studded Tribute to Eddie Money. The show is hosted by Louie Anderson, and is located at The Canyon at The Saban in Beverly Hills on February 20. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. In addition, there will be some surprise special guests!
Lance Sterling and his wife Caryn own The Canyon Agoura, The Canyon at The Rose in Pasadena, The Canyon Santa Clarita, and The Canyon Montclair. They operate The Canyon at Saban in Beverly Hills, and produces concerts at The Starlight Bowl in Burbank, and the Libbey Bowl in Ojai.
Eddie Money was truly a friend to the various Canyon locations. "Eddie lived locally and I thought it would be cool to book him for the weekend," says Lance. "To my delight, the show sold out and Eddie became a permanent partner with my company where he played twice a year at every one of my venues."
Throughout his career, Eddie Money sold over 28 million records worldwide. His trademark raspy husky voice was easily recognized around the world. His most popular hits include "Two Tickets To Paradise," "Baby Hold On," "Think I'm In Love," and many more! At the fundraiser, Eddie's hits will be on display.
"Eddie left us and we didn't get a chance to say goodbye," says Lance. "So we got together and decided we're going to do something. We've ended up with such a great response from everybody."
More important than Eddie Money's musical legacy is his reputation as a hard-working good guy who always remembered and made time for family, friends, fans, and those who lent him a hand along the road to stardom. Truly a gentleman for the ages!
Why is the music of Eddie Money iconic?
"He was an everyday guy," says Lance. "When you sat with Eddie you knew that he was half a step away from being you. He just had a little more talent. It didn't matter whether you were Pat Benatar or just a guy who lived around the corner he treated you the same."
Why visit the Canyon? They truly cater to music lovers.
"There's no place that you can come to anywhere in the United States where you're sixty feet away from the stage and you get to see talent of this magnitude," says Lance. "The people who play the Canyon actually love their fans."
There are some upcoming shows coming up at The Canyon locations to get excited about. Jefferson Starship, REO Speedwagon, Michael Bolton, Dweezil Zappa, Aaron Neville, Stone Temple Pilots, Berlin, Men At Work, Blood Sweat and Tears, Cheech and Chong, Buckcherry, and Toad The Wet Sprocket will all be performing in the next few months!
