Las Dunas Peruvian Cuisine


Las Dunas Peruvian Cuisine offers the best in fine Peruvian cooking with a modern twist. Owners Carlos and Margarita Rodriguez – Peruvian natives – opened the restaurant in 2001. They have now moved to a new location nestled in the heart of Northridge.

The eatery offers up a unique combination of exquisite food and impeccable service to create the perfect dining experience. The atmosphere is casual and family-friendly, and the food is absolutely delicious.


Often you will find in Las Dunas dishes Peruvian ingredients prepared with Asian or European techniques. “We try to keep the dishes traditional with a better look,” says Carlos. “There are so many chefs coming from Peru improvising new techniques and that is what we want to do.”


There are delicious and interesting items on the menu. Ceviches are a favorite way to start your meal. They are made with fresh lime juice, onion, spices and served with boiled baby potatoes, pureed yams and Peruvian corn along with fish, seafood and calamari. Or try the Tiradito De Pescado, which is slices of the fresh catch of the day in a yellow ceviche sauce with mango, cherry tomatoes and a hint of passion fruit coulis. The Pulpo A La Parrilla is Peruvian marinate grilled octopus served with golden potatoes, cream of rocoto, olive cream and chimichurri sauce.


Another popular item is the Lomo Saltado. There's chunks of beef, sauteed with a Peruvian flavor mixed with onions, tomatoes and cilantro and served with fresh cut fries and white rice. The Saltado de Pollo is chunks of chicken sautéed with onions, tomatoes, and french fries, salad or rice, and the Arroz Chaufa is Peruvian style fried rice with peas, carrots, egg and green onion along with beef, chicken or shrimp. Tallarin Verde is spaghetti sautéed with a creamy basil-spinach and cheese sauce along with Chicken Milanesa or breaded steak.


What do patrons say about the restaurant? That the food is delicious and on point, the environment is clean, comfortable and upscale and the service is amazing! The presentation of the food is outstanding, and they are very creative choosing their ingredients and fusions. The flavors are also super satisfying. Las Dunas is definitely the best Peruvian restaurant in the valley and a hidden gem!


Want to try something new? The Pollo a la Brasa, also known as Peruvian blackened chicken or rotisserie chicken, just came onto the menu. The restaurant is also planning on serving wine and beer and offering live entertainment – jazz, country and Peruvian music – very soon! Who wouldn't want to enjoy a delicious steak along with a glass of red wine?
