Dr. Chris Parker

If you are experiencing back, neck or muscle pain, seeing a chiropractor may be your best bet for relief of your symptoms and the underlying causes that are contributing to your discomfort. Just ask Dr. Chris Parker, owner of Advanced Wellness Center, a chiropractor who has been in practice for 21 years.

Chris graduated from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Los Angeles in 1996. He also has a degree in exercise science from CSUN, was a faculty member for the National Academy of Sports Medicine where he educated personal trainers, worked as a personal trainer himself, and was a professional football player for four years. If you have a serious injury, chances are that he's had the same thing! “I have had a lot of injuries. My patients appreciate the fact that I've experienced everything they are going through!” he says.

Advanced Wellness Center is a chiropractic, sports medicine and clinical nutrition center that focuses on natural, alternative approaches to health and wellness. They have helped thousands of patients gain relief – everyone from geriatrics, athletes, and kids to expecting mothers, those with sports injuries and motor vehicle accident victims. Dr. Parker offers chiropractic care, massage therapy, es well as treatments like physiotherapy, electric muscle stimulation, clinical nutrition, acupuncture, detoxification, custom fitting orthotics and wellness programs.

Dr. Parker is ahead of the pack because he looks at each case individually with a detailed, thorough examination. He checks out your body as a whole, then breaks it down into systems to get a complete and accurate diagnosis. Chiropractors are the only doctors that are neuro-muscular-skeletal specific. Dr. Parker can work with your body without surgery or medication. In fact, he says, ice is your best friend in many cases! “Chiropractors look at the disease process in a natural way. I'm going to examine the problem, we're going to talk about your nutrition, stress levels, the ergonomics of your work station, and foods that are inflammatory – all these can be a reason for your symptoms. This gives your body time to heal without medications,” he says. “The easiest treatment for pain and inflammation is ice. it is a great first line of defense. If we can control inflammation then the pain will subside. As well, treatments like physical therapy, electric stem treatments, traction, and adjustments are all great pain reducers.”

If you are hurting it's time to visit a chiropractor. Dr Parker works regularly on issues like neuropathies, pinched nerves in the neck and low back, sciatica, arthritis, headaches, TMJ, sports injuries, and structural imbalances. He also completed a post graduate study in headache and TMJ treatment protocols and adjusting. Dr. Parker works regularly on issues like neuropathy, pinched nerves in neck with pain radiating, arthritis,. A standard MD is going to treat your symptoms, usually with a pill and never really fixes that problem. Think of it like the tip of an iceberg. Your symptom is the tip of the iceberg but you know that iceberg is huge under the water. Meaning there could be many causes to that symptom. While this may work in the short term, it will be easy for you to reinjure yourself. Chiropractors check the body and decide what the problem is, then they relieve the pressure, allowing your body to heal on its own. By going to a chiropractor you can get realigned and fix any structural imbalances that may be negatively impacting your health. “I treat a wide variety of patients,” explains Dr. Parker. “You assess the problem, and what is the best technique that will fit the treatment plan for that patient. We use tools such as ultrasound, activators, massage, roller tables, and physiotherapy. We look at body as a whole, and break it down to get a more complete look. We want to get to the source and the cause of the pain and adjust our treatment to what you need.”

Dr. Parker believes in treating his patients how he would want to be treated, and will pay close attention to whatever discomfort you are feeling that brought you into his office. He allows you to express your needs directly, and works hard to cater to your specific issue. “People feel calm and relaxed after they visit our office,” he says. “Some people come in literally crawling and after treatment they are upright and walking. It's really cool to see patients like that responding.”
