Circus Vargas 2020

It's time to run away to the circus – Circus Vargas is coming to town! Get ready to let your imagination run wild and discover a world of magic under the Big Top, where memories are made and treasured!

Katya and Nelson Quiroga are the owners and producers of Circus Vargas. To them, the circus is a family tradition. Katya is a 7th generation circus performer and trained in classical ballet, and her husband is a 4th generation circus performer specializing in the flying trapeze. Katya worked originally as a juggler and aerial artist for the show along with her family, but after marrying Nelson, switched to performing with him on the flying trapeze. Nelson has performed several dangerous acts alongside his brother Alberto, including the renowned Flying Tabares which in 2004 was awarded the “Golden Clown” statuette at the prestigious Festival International du Cirque de Monte-Carlo. The couple purchased Circus Vargas in 2005 and are inspiring the allure of a traveling circus to a whole new generation! As well, they are keeping the family tradition alive. Two of their three daughters perform in the show – one is a contortionist and hand balancer and the other is a flying trapeze artist.

Circus Vargas offers up a whirlwind cast of performers from all over the world! Death-defying acrobats, daredevils, flying trapeze artists, jugglers, contortionists, comedians, clowns, motorcycles and much, much, more! The show is always fresh and exciting. It is also unique because it is totally animal-free.

The upcoming show is going to be amazing with performances like a teeterboard act that flies through the air, a roller-skating act, a juggler, and the most amazing flying trapeze act in the world.

There is a different theme to the show every year. The story this season is about Mr. V's Big Top Dream. It pays tribute to the founder of Circus Vargas – Clifford E. Vargas – who created the show 50 years ago. It will explore how he got started in the circus world and take you on his journey.

“We are trying to tell people everyone has their dream,” says Katya. “If you want it enough you can make your dreams come true.”

Circus Vargas is wholesome and for the whole family. Everyone will find something fun in the show whether you are a grownup or a child – whether you are 2 years old or 99 years old.

“We try to create a story to make people feel connected with the show and the performers – it's something more than just seeing acts perform,” says Katya.

What's sets Circus Vargas apart is that they are an interactive circus, with world-renowned acts that are tied together with a whole story. At the end of the show, you'll get to meet the performers and take pictures of them. It's an experience you can remember for a lifetime.

And there's more: Arrive 30 minutes early for an entertaining, interactive pre-show celebration, where kids can create their own magic under the big top and where the performers are up close and personal.

Circus Vargas is very excited to have their world premiere coming here to Los Angeles because it was Mr V's hometown. Circus Vargas performance dates are January 20 – February 9 at 777 N. Front St. in Burbank.
