Created by owner Josh Carter, a nationally certified fitness personal trainer, Carter Fitness is the number one personal training facility in The Valley. Over the last 20 years, Josh has made it his mission to personally help people achieve amazing results creating the body of their dreams while dropping pounds of unhealthy fat.

Josh started his fitness journey with personal weight loss. Having reached an unhealthy 270 pounds, he decided to incorporate fitness into his lifestyle, and gained a passion for working out. He began working as a trainer at the Santa Monica Sports Club, which then grew into his opening his own personal training gym in the Valley in 2006. “I decided to move towards fitness and health,” he says. “I was good at training people and I saw lives change in front of my eyes.”

Carter Fitness is unique because it works on an individual level. It's a different level of service, tailored to the client's personal needs with one on one attention. People can go to a any traditional big box gym and be unrecognized and completely anonymous, but at Carter Fitness they are there for you every step of the way. “We make or clients feel seen, appreciated and validated. Every move we do is to help our clients achieve their personal goals,” says Josh. “We get results – and create habits that last a lifetime.”

Those goals are not always measured by the scale. Carter Fitness teaches healthy habits and pushes clients into working towards a healthy body fat range. After all, if you gain five pounds of muscle, your body will look and feel better. And you will have pride in your accomplishments. “We help people feel strong, proud and confident. Being part of something bigger than themselves – that's what we deliver,” says Josh.

Carter Fitness keeps each client's workout personalized. First, they determine your goal and they work to understand your nutrition and eating habits. As you work in the program, they make modifications based on your individual needs, so you can make progress. The communication lines stay open between the client and the coach working with that client.

Carter Fitness uses 2XR style training, with a tagline of “Twice the Results – Half the Time” 2XR takes 60 minutes worth of fitness and fat loss personal training and compresses it into 30 minutes. 2XR works by offering high intensity interval training where you work your body super hard for a short period of time and then rest for a short period of time. This style of workout can ignite your metabolism for up to 48 hours, and that works! Clients who utilize the program just three days a week regularly lose up to 20 lbs in a month!

In addition to personal training, Carter Fitness also offers programs like Carter Fitness Boot Camp, and S3Yoga. Bootcamp is a results driven and energetic fitness and fat loss workout program which includes motivation, accountability and dynamic resistance training. Every workout is in a group setting, led by an experienced fitness and fat loss expert – a nationally certified personal trainer. It's fun, motivating, challenging and affordable.
